Appointments
On this page you will find information about scheduling a session with me; including fees and insurance details, office policies, and what will happen in our initial contacts and meetings.
Finding a good client-therapist fit is an important aspect of beginning therapy. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for new clients who are interested in learning more about my services and approach. This phone consultation allows for you to briefly share information with me about your interest in starting therapy and what you are looking for. It also allows me to tell you some about my approach, and for us to discuss other aspects of my services, such as scheduling, fees, and insurance.

First Session
The initial appointment is typically 75 minutes, and is a time for us to get to know one another, and for me to gather more information about you and your interest in seeking psychotherapy. I will ask you to share what is bringing to therapy, and I will also ask you a variety of questions about your past and present experiences, general functioning, and goals for therapy. During this initial meeting we will review my fee structure, office policies, and therapy approaches. I encourage new clients to ask any questions you may have of me and my therapeutic style.
If you feel good about our first meeting and have an interest in continuing to work together, then we can discuss setting up a second session and/or an ongoing, regular session time. If we decide that we will not work together, I will be glad to provide you referrals to other therapists who may be a better fit. Also, if I determine that your issues or therapy goals are not within the scope of my training, I will provide you with a referral to a more appropriately trained therapist or provider.
